Continuing along Corso Umberto, you reach the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, a Greek-Roman structure built in the 3rd century BCE and later modified under Roman rule. The theatre’s seating and stage layout remain largely visible, and the site still hosts performances today. After the visit, you return toward the town center to reach Palazzo Corvaja, a medieval building that combines Arab, Norman, and Gothic architectural phases dating from the 10th to the 15th century.
From Palazzo Corvaja, you walk a short distance to the Duomo di Taormina, a 13th-century cathedral dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Bari. The building has a Romanesque layout and underwent restorations in the 15th and 16th centuries. Your visit ends at Piazza del Carmine, a small square near the southern part of the historic center, which connects to local residential streets and provides access to nearby churches and daily-life areas of the town.
