Private Walking Tour in Rhodes

Enter the walled city and proceed to the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, originally constructed in the 14th century as the administrative and residential center of the Knights. The palace was rebuilt during the Italian administration of the island in the 20th century after damage caused by an explosion in 1856. Nearby, walk along the Street of the Knights, a preserved medieval street where the different “inns” of the Knights were organized according to their places of origin, such as France, Italy, and Spain.

Continue through the medieval quarter to view the exterior of the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, housed in the former Hospital of the Knights, completed in the 15th century under Grand Master Jean de Lastic. The hospital served members of the Order and later functioned under different administrations following the Ottoman conquest of Rhodes in 1522. Throughout the walk, observe sections of medieval walls, gates, and public buildings that reflect the successive periods of rule on the island, including the Byzantine, Knightly, Ottoman, and Italian eras.
