At the Stavropoleos Monastery Church, you will observe its intricate stone carvings and wooden icons. Built in 1724 during the rule of Prince Nicolae Mavrocordat, the church follows the Brâncovenesc architectural style and houses one of the largest collections of Byzantine music manuscripts in Romania.
Continuing to the Palace of the Deposits and Consignments, known today as CEC Palace, you will see its grand glass and metal dome. Completed in 1900, the building served as the headquarters of Romania’s oldest savings bank. Its design, created by French architect Paul Gottereau, combines Beaux-Arts and Neoclassical elements.
Walking through the Macca-Vilacrosse Passage, you will pass under its yellow glass-covered arcades. Originally built in the 19th century as a connection between two major streets, the passage housed luxury shops and was later known for its cafés and restaurants.
At the Cercul Militar Național, the National Military Circle, you will see the symmetrical facade of this building, completed in 1923. Constructed to serve as a cultural and social venue for Romanian officers, it features a combination of French neoclassical and Beaux-Arts architectural styles.
