Meet your guide at Plaza de la Marina, a central square developed in the 19th century after the demolition of Malaga’s city walls. From here, walk toward the historic center through the main entrance streets that connect the port area with the old town.

Continue along Calle Marqués de Larios, opened in 1891 as Málaga’s main commercial street, and reach Plaza de la Constitución, the historic civic center of the city. From there, head toward Málaga Cathedral, whose construction began in the 16th century on the site of a former mosque, and continue to the nearby Roman Theatre, built in the 1st century BC during the reign of Emperor Augustus, located at the base of the Alcazaba, an 11th-century Moorish fortress overlooking the city.
Walk through the historic center to Plaza de la Merced, known as the birthplace location of Pablo Picasso, and visit the exterior of the Picasso Birthplace Museum, where the artist was born in 1881. Continue to the Church of Santiago, founded after the Christian conquest of Málaga in 1487, where Picasso was baptized, and pass by the Picasso Museum Málaga, located in the Buenavista Palace, which houses works donated by members of Picasso’s family.
